Tutoring Services

1. Introduction

​

Welcome to my private tutoring service, Edventures in Teaching©! I am dedicated to providing high-quality educational support to students in grades K-12. By using my services, you agree to adhere to the following policies and terms. These guidelines ensure the safety, integrity, and effectiveness of our tutoring sessions.

2. Scheduling and Cancellations

• Scheduling Appointments: All tutoring sessions must be scheduled in advance via e-mail, phone, or by requesting a session through the online website (http://www.edventuresinteaching.com) . Sessions are subject to tutor availability.

• Tutoring Location: 

• • Online tutoring: All sessions are conducted over the internet using video conferencing tools (Zoom or Microsoft Teams). This allows for flexibility in scheduling and removes location barriers.

• Cancellations and Rescheduling: Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session without incurring a fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the session cost.

• No-shows: Clients who do not attend a scheduled session without prior notice will be charged the full session fee.

• Parent Attendance:

  • ​Parent presence during sessions: Parents are encouraged to attend the first two sessions. After the first two sessions, tutoring will take place one-on-one with solely the tutor and student. This is to ensure student accountability, independence, and building of student rapport.

• • Parent communication: Parents will communicate with the tutor via phone, text, e-mail, or the online website. In addition, at the end of each session, students/parents will receive a session report, detailing skills reviewed and next steps.

3. Payment and Refunds

​

• Payment: Payments for sessions must be made in advance through the secure payment portal provided by the tutor. 

​

• Late Payments: Payments not received within 5 days of a session may incur a $10 late fee. Repeated non-payment may result in service suspension.

​

• Tutoring Rates: Payment rates are as follows and may be subject to change at any time. Should the tutoring rates change, parents will be notified with 14 days.

​

•  Hourly Rates:

  • Elementary (K–5): $55/hr

  • Middle School (6–8): $65/hr

  • High School (9–12): $75/hr

  • Test Prep (SAT/ACT/F.A.S.T- Reading/Writing Only): $120/hr

​

• Refund Policy: Refunds are only available for sessions canceled with at least 24 hours' notice. No refunds will be issued for partially used packages or missed sessions.

• Package Deals: Clients who purchase session packages must use all included sessions within the specified time frame. Unused sessions will not be refunded but may be transferred to another student with prior approval.

4. Monthly Tutoring Packages

These packages are ideal for families seeking structured, consistent support over the course of a month. Monthly packages must be used within the calendar month unless otherwise arranged. Clients receive priority scheduling and the option to add discounted bonus sessions. Payment is due at the start of each month.

• Elementary (K–5 @ $55/hr)

  • Standard – 4 sessions/month – $210

  • Plus – 6 sessions/month – $310

  • Full Support – 8 sessions/month – $400

• Middle School (6–8 @ $65/hr)

  • Standard – 4 sessions/month – $250

  • Plus – 6 sessions/month – $380

  • Full Support – 8 sessions/month – $495

​

• High School (9–12 @ $75/hr)

  • Standard – 4 sessions/month – $290

  • Plus – 6 sessions/month – $435

  • Full Support – 8 sessions/month – $580

​

• Test Prep (SAT, ACT, FAST @ $120/hr)

  • Standard Prep – 4 sessions/month – $460

  • Accelerated Prep – 6 sessions/month – $675

  • Complete Prep Plan – 8 sessions/month – $880

5. Code of Conduct

​

• Respect and Professionalism: All parties are expected to conduct themselves with respect and professionalism. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in termination of services without a refund.

• Academic Integrity: Tutor is committed to helping students understand and learn the material. However, completing assignments, exams, or any academic work on behalf of students is strictly prohibited. Any requests for such services will be declined.

​

• Privacy and Confidentiality: All personal information shared by clients will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of providing tutoring services. Tutors are required to maintain the confidentiality of all student information.

​

6. Responsibilities and Liabilities

​

• Tutor Responsibilities: Tutor will provide professional, knowledgeable, and punctual tutoring sessions. They will prepare for each session and tailor instruction to meet the student’s needs.

​

• Student Responsibilities: Students are expected to come prepared with necessary materials and a willingness to learn. They should communicate any specific needs or concerns to the tutor in advance.

​

• Disclaimer of Results: While tutors strive to provide the best possible educational support, Edventures in Teaching© does not guarantee specific grade improvements, test scores, or academic outcomes.

​

7. Termination of Services:
Edventures in Teaching© reserves the right to terminate services at any time due to non-payment, repeated cancellations, inappropriate behavior, or failure to follow program guidelines. Refunds for unused sessions will be issued at the sole discretion of the tutor.

8. Medical & Emergency Disclaimer:
Tutors are not trained to provide medical or emergency assistance. In the case of an emergency during a session, parents/guardians are expected to take necessary action. Parents/guardians must remain reachable during sessions in case of emergency.

9. Media Release:
By opting in, clients grant Edventures in Teaching© permission to use anonymized student work, written testimonials, or session screenshots for educational or marketing purposes. No personal identifying information will be used without explicit written consent.

10. Governing Law:
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Any legal action arising from this agreement shall be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of Florida.

11. Amendments

Edventures in Teaching© reserves the right to amend these policies and terms at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes through our website or direct communication.
